Social Comparison as a Predictor of Self-Esteem Amongst Instagram-Using Students during the Covid-19 Pandemic


 Self-esteem is based on positive or negative evaluations of oneself, whereas social comparison the effort defining oneself through with other people. Online different from offline comparison. An individual’s self-esteem can be predicted their interactions media This research aims to understand idea amongst Instagram users. In process, this study explores comparison, and evaluates as a predictor self-esteem. uses descriptive predictive methods, population 2016 students Faculty Psychology Education State University Malang. The sample was taken using saturation sampling technique census. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure. data were further analysed analysis mean value, hypothesis test simple linear regression technique. results show that Ho rejected significance level 0.000, R-value 0.382, R-squared value 0.146, which implies contributes towards existence by 14.6%.
